    Spirituality statement

Spirituality is a core component to ‘living life in all its fullness’ as the mind, body and soul need to be nurtured equally. It relates to fundamental questions about the meaning and purpose of life which affect everyone. It is also based on exploration to answer questions about life and enables us to understand our own identity in our world.

At Matching Green Church of England Primary School, we nurture our spiritual development to promote growth together and as individuals. We believe the relationships we have with ourselves, one another and the world around us enable us to develop spiritually. We endeavour to promote ‘presence’ for all by listening, questioning, looking and reflecting in a safe environment. Our unique approach to spiritual development is embedded throughout our curriculum and within our community to promote exploration, expression and developing our passions and beliefs. By learning with our heads, hearts and hands, we are encouraged to gain a deeper understanding of our own self and being.

Promoting spirituality provides an opportunity to enrich everyone and is part of all our learning and development. This could be a belief in a God; spirituality is for everybody, regardless of faith.
