St Mary the Virgin, Matching CM17 0QZ is a Church of England parish church and predominantly serves the local communities comprised of the villages of Matching, Matching Green and Matching Tye. We have enjoyed serving the local community and sharing God's love for over 900 years. We have historic links with Matching Green School of which we are very proud. It is part of our mission to continue to forge and support the pupils, staff and the whole school community as we have since its foundation.
We welcome people from all backgrounds and beliefs to visit and the church itself is open every day from 9am to 5pm; you are most welcome to come and enjoy the silence and peace. Please see our website for details of services and events across the benefice of four churches - to which you are warmly welcomed - including Seedlings, our monthly craft and praise group for 0-11 yr olds.

Revd Julia Baldwin
I became a Governor through my position as part-time Priest-in-Charge of the Benefice of The Lavers and Matching, which comprises of four Anglican village churches in Matching, High Laver, Little Laver and Magdalen Laver. I am passionate about giving the children at Matching Green Church of England Primary School the best opportunities to experience the "fullness of life" that Jesus speaks of in the gospels and which we have chosen as our Christian vision for the whole school community. Before I was ordained, I trained and taught as a secondary school teacher of English and Drama and still enjoy teaching today on a supply basis roughly one day per week across schools in Hertfordshire and Essex.
